NEWS | Players and staff from Club Doncaster visit Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Players and staff from across the Club Doncaster family were able to raise a few smiles as they made the annual Christmas visit to the children’s ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Dons forward Alex Holdstock was joined by Rovers head coach Danny Schofield and club captain Tommy Rowe, as well as Belles defender Freya Rattenbury to hand out gifts to young patients on the ward.

They took time to chat to the youngsters and their parents and helped lift spirits.

Holdstock said: “It was a pressure and a privilege to be able to visit the children and give something back to the community.

“It’s really humbling, sometimes in life you don’t realise how lucky you are in life, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to take part in the visit.”

Club Doncaster Foundation donated gift bags for each of the youngsters which included teddy bears and toys.

Elite Pro Sports provided footballs, calendars and stationery while Rovers Academy players donated selection boxes to be included in the gift bags.

We would like thank all of those who contributed gifts towards the visit, which was carried out as part of our Charity 100 scheme, which is sponsored by Keepmoat.

Charity 100 has supported more than 70 charities since its creation in April.
